The unique factor of the Games Village being temporary allowed for design principles to focus on how structures could be retained to further benefit the community and regenerate an area pinpointed of national priority. From the outset, we promoted the Village as an exemplar of sustainable design, in turn, the design was awarded 'Scotland's most Sustainable Development 2014.' The provision of mixed tenure housing and varying types has helped create a broad intergenerational community.
